India will hope that their match against Canada remains unaffected by weather disruptions as they aim to progress to the Super 8s.
India will be keen for their star batter, Virat Kohli, to regain his form after a dismal run, having scored just 5 runs in three innings, including a golden duck against the USA. Additionally, scrutiny will be on Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, who has struggled since his unbeaten 52 against Ireland in the first match. His subsequent scores of 13 and 3 against Pakistan and the USA, respectively, have left much to be desired.
India has yet to encounter Canada in a T20I match. The upcoming meeting on Friday at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida will mark the first time these two teams face each other in the shortest format of the game.
The focus will once be on India’s batting order, who have been inconsistent in this campaign. The playing XI has had four left-handed batters in the middle (Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel) and with four right-handed batters (Rohit, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya) in the batting order. It will be key for India to maintain their left-right combination again.
